Planning for Health Reading Club: Planning Case Discussions
Bi-monthly Reading Club-style discussions via Zoom on planning cases relevant to improving understanding of Planning for Health practice
Trialling a bi-monthly Reading Club-style discussion on a selected Planning Case. The Planning Case could be a recent appeal decision, planning application decision or specific policy development. They will be relevant to Planning for Health and be useful to improving how health and wellbeing issues are considered in the planning process.
Keeping the cases based on a recent but completed Planning Case (not a live one) helps ensure discussions will not adversely affect ongoing proceedings.
It will take place over Zoom for up to 40 minutes. So a short, intense but interactive discussions among participants. We would of course expect participants to be provided concise details of each Planning Case in advance so they can come prepared!
Planning Case for the first Trial Session will be a recent Planning Appeal from England. Appeals represent the final stage of implementing planning decisions and can shed some light as to how planning legislation/ policies are interpreted to give effect to a particular public health issue in a land use development.
